The park encompasses more than 6 million acres (7,408 square miles) which makes it the 3rd largest of the national parks. The 2 that are larger are Wrangell-St Elias National Park at 13,005 square miles and Gates of the Arctic National Park at 11,765 square miles. The park receives approximately 400,000 annual visitors.
